Death and eternal Life
Heaven and Hell
Luke 17, 21: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
If you look at the word ‘heaven‘ you will find that in there are two connotations. One is the physical heaven surrounding the earth, the place we would call ‘sky‘ today, e.g. Genesis 1 9:24 (KJV) "Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; or in Exodus 32:1 3 (KJV) "
"Verily, I tell you, He who hears My Word, accepts it as truth and faithfully lives and acts according to it, will henceforth no longer feel nor taste death"
Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven.
And then there is the other heaven, we would say the real heaven, the place where God and all the angels and spirits reside:
Genesis 22:11 (KJV) And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. Or Genesis 28:12 (KJV) And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. Compared hereto the New Testament speaks of this "real" heaven almost exclusively:
Matthew 19:23 (KJV) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. Or John 6:38 (KJV) For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
In the following text samples we understand the spiritual heaven, the Kingdom of God the place of eternal bliss through the nearness to the Almighty.
With hell we don‘t have this problem as it always was understood as a spiritual condition and/or place the human soul has to experience as consequence of a certain behavior.
