  Death and eternal Life
How to pray for the dead:

Praying for the deceased is important, especially if these were "too enamored of their earthly possessions so that such extremely materialistic souls often continue to dwell in a place until the last material trace of their former property has vanished" (e.g. houses, farms).

The Lord:
"For the prayer of a soul filled with true love and compassion, with complete loving trust in Me, has a good effect upon such truly poor souls in the beyond. It forms around them a certain life-ether substance, wherein they recognize their faults and weaknesses, better themselves and thereby more easily rise to the light of life.

And I Myself afford you this opportunity, so that you may be of true assistance to your deceased brothers and sisters."

How to pray for them?
[GEJ.08_038,04 on]
The Lord: "That is quite easy. When you pray, do not imagine that you must move Me to greater mercy, since I Myself am endlessly more merciful than all the best and most loving people in the world taken together. But preach to them the Gospel with true love from the bottom of your heart, and they will listen and also heed it. In this way you will be preaching the Gospel to the truly poor in spirit, which will be of great help to them.

Any other kind of praying and bawling is not only absolutely useless to any departed soul, but even harmful, as it annoys the soul if it becomes aware of it, since such prayers for the souls of the deceased - being the law with the Pharisees must be paid with great sacrifices.

The way I have now shown you in which to pray for the deceased and care for their spiritual poverty is certainly a rich blessing for them, whereas a dearly paid-for prayer of the Pharisees is a curse which they flee and regard with deep contempt.

Do take good note of this good advice from Me and observe it faithfully, for thereby you will create for yourselves true, great, mighty and very grateful friends in the great beyond who will not desert you - neither here nor in the beyond - if you should get into any trouble. Such friends will then be your true guardian angels and always be concerned with the welfare of their benefactors. But such friends you can win only if you care for them in the way I have shown you. With this you do not have to wait for old castles and farmhouses, but can everywhere and at all times help as many departed souls as you can think of. "
