6. Jesus about Himself
|
Speaking to a group of Jews doubting His divinity, Jesus said:
"The ONE Who once on Sinai gave Moses the laws among lightning and thunder and Who‘s spirit moved over the waters, He is now standing before you within this humble person. Believe that following me will give you light!" [GGJ.06:006,12]
And shortly after about the Sabbath: The meal for the twenty was waiting on the table. However, the sun had not yet set. Therefore they dared not touch anything, but watched the sun to see, if it would soon set [GGJ.06:006,17].
But I said to them: "Listen! Now who is more: the sun, the Sabbath or I, Who in My spirit am the Lord of both and have been since all eternity?"
And they said: "Yes, if you really are He whom you are showing us, you surely are infinitely greater than the sun and the Sabbath!"
Said I: "Sit down, eat and drink ! Once it was said: ‘Nobody can see God and live as God is an all consuming fire‘. Now you can see God and eat and drink and at the same time receive eternal life!"
Said they: "All that would be fine, if only there was not the law of Moses!"
Said I: "Where I am there also is Moses and all the other prophets; therefore, do what the Lord wants!" [GGJ.06:006,18-22]
